The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health was formed in 2022 from a five-year grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Through this webinar, Center Ambassador Dr. Libby Milkovich, MD, FAAP will provide an overview of the risks and benefits of social media, how it impacts youth wellbeing, and the implications concerning the current narrative. She will be joined by Jessica Lee, a sophomore at the University of California Irvine, who is a member of the Center’s Youth Advisory Panel (YAP).
