The Workforce Solutions Partnership | Workforce Solutions Jam

The behavioral health workforce crisis, a long-standing issue worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic, threatens the ability of provider organizations to meet growing demands for behavioral health treatment services. Despite decades of efforts, challenges such as inadequate compensation, workforce shortages, lack of diversity, and high burnout persist. In fact, a 2023 survey of state Medicaid officials on behavioral health revealed that nearly every state was engaged in at least one strategy to address the workforce shortage.

To address these persistent multifaceted challenges, the Workforce Solutions Partnership was established as a partnership between the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, Health Management Associates, and the College for Behavioral Health Leadership to “create a behavioral health system where timely, high-quality services are provided by an inclusive, accessible, sustainable, and thriving workforce.” Utilizing the Collective Impact framework, the partnership emphasizes cross-sector collaboration to develop and implement a unified strategy for workforce development. By aligning efforts across various sectors, the partnership ensures that all partners work towards common goals and achieve shared outcomes.

The Workforce Solutions Partnership is building a national platform to support cross-sector partnerships, facilitating the identification, elevation, and scaling of innovative solutions to workforce challenges. One of the core activities of the partnership is the Workforce Solutions Jam, a monthly webinar to engage stakeholders, share best practices, and drive collaborative action. Join us on the third Tuesday of each month to engage with subject matter experts, learn about innovative new practices and get updates on new legislation and federal workforce efforts.
